The dream of Fredericia (Denmark) as city of pluralism and sustainable development is realised by connecting the medieval ramparts with the waterfront in a recreational edge.

Within this belt, clear transitions between different urban densities increase quality of life and people's identity and public and private green areas create different spatial experiences and functions.
