I hold a Master's Degree in Architectural Engineering (2009) from the University of Trento (Italy), a Wood Program Certificate (2010) from the Aalto University (Finland) and a Master in Sustainable Building Processes (2013) from the IUAV of Venice (Italy).


International Experience
I also studied (Erasmus, 2006) in Grenoble (France) and worked (Internship, 2011) in Copenhagen (Denmark), thus experiencing to integrate into multicultural environments with people of different nationalities.


Adaptability
I learned to develop ideas and projects both individually and in workgroups, moving from the scale of detail of metal and wooden joints to the larger one of urban plans. Presentazione
Sono un ingegnere edile / architetto, vengo dalle Dolomiti e vivo a Lille dove lavoro per la società di ingegneria delle facciate VS-A.

Istruzione
Mi sono laureato in Ingegneria Edile / Architettura (2009) all'Università di Trento, possiedo un certificato Wood Program (2010) della Aalto University (Finlandia) e un Master di Secondo Livello in Processi Costruttivi Sostenibli (2013) dallo IUAV di Venezia.


Esperienza Internazionale
Ho anche studiato (Erasmus, 2006) a Grenoble (Francia) e lavorato (Tirocinio, 2011) a Copenaghen (Danimarca), facendo così esperienza ad inserirmi in ambienti multiculturali con persone di diverse nazionalità.

À Lille (France) le dessin du parc, directement issu du projet urbain de l Union, est un croisement de territoires physiques et humains comme hommage au paysage urbain et reflet des dynamiques du site.

Le territoire urbain se compose à plusieurs acteurs, réunis en familles qui sont ici transposées sur le parc, avec chacune sa identité, sa propre dynamique, sa matérialité, ses usages possibles et une émergence verticale comme repère, en proposant ainsi une vision urbaine forte et durable.

Over the main hub of Paris (F), a new public building hosts a discount center, a library and a concert hall.

My task was the parametric design of the gutters of the canopy over its patio. Then I created some evolutionary algorithms to study the solar irradiation, daylighting and thermal behaviour of the building.

Our main idea was to reconnect the site with Feltre (IT) by using a green flow that also defines the project: a tilted wall is enclosed by a greenhouse and becomes the stand for the internal rooms.

This project is a nZEB thanks to a performing X-Lam envelope and an efficient plant system.

The retrofit and extension of the main educational complex of Limbiate (MI) was the subject of this competition.

Our idea of school is based on the educative value of sustainability, to be strenghted by collective teaching, efficient building envelope and plants, LEED vision, internal comfort, greenhouses, parks and green cycle paths.

The taks was to develop a process of production of families of solutions based on two variables, the bricks shifting and rotation, changing according to the solar angle to find the best diffuse light.

At the same time the best solution‘s mockup has been build, thus allowing for material experimentation and translation from “virtual to real“.

In a space defined by a 20cm cube, the task is to express wood's visual and physical properties.

The idea is to divide the cube into 6 “ziggurats” made up of 6 wood species (pine, spruce, larch, oak, birch, aspen) sorted according to 6 physical and mechanical properties.

The result is a "spatial" notebook that is meant to ease the understanding of wood by means of the existing similarities and differences among wood species, to be played with to compose different shapes and to help the teaching at primary schools.

The task is to build a wooden frame structure which has a 70x70x210cm free inner space, a platform where to stay and an open access from at least one side. Structural rigidity and architectural expression should deal with lightness and easiness of both manufacturing and transportation.

The idea is to create both a visual pattern, whose elements in fore- and back-ground interplay, and a "light" space, easy to access and to carry by a group of people. This is achieved by composing framed units that display good strength and resilience thanks to a bee hive-like shape and group effect.

The competition led to choose and develop in groups the winning idea, focusing on pattern, joints and size studies, prototyping, manufacturing, transport management and building site operations.

The Nest has been build in Fiskars (Finland) and, a few months later, in London (United Kingdom), at the Union Street Urban Orchard.

The camp's task was to restore Lindalstorpet, an old smoke cabin in Svullrya (Norway), village of the Grue Finnskog region. The latter is part of the hilly forested ares characterised by the vernacular building heritage of the finns who settled since the 16th century. The settlers built log houses according to their own tradition, different if compared with the norwegian one.

The tasks I have been involved in were the making of wooden holders to lift the roof, the shaping of new beams to add a new one and to substitute a rotten one by rough hewing and the assembly of big flat stones to build up the foundations.

The competition is about the design of a wood structure on the roof of the Finnish Institute in London (United Kingdom). Its purpose is to host lunch and short brakes, get-together parties and summer events.

The original design has been developed to better suite site views and to express at best the needs of the Finnish Institute by creating a strong presence in the context of Eagle Street.

Acting like a pair of “binoculars”, 2 frames draw attention to Eagle Street, the main axis of the site, while a third one connects them and emphasizes the view toward the sky. The result is a winding wooden ribbon that creates a continuos and bright central space where where finnish wood elements and London's surrounding context visually interplay to enjoy relax moments and foster informal meetings with emerging artists.

Within this belt, clear transitions between different urban densities increase quality of life and people's identity and public and private green areas create different spatial experiences and functions.

Frederiksberg’s (Denmark) new retirement home enhances common areas as space for elderly’s activities and interactions. These areas take advantage of three types of landscape: terraces, hanging and ground green areas.

Space, view and light qualities are emphasized by intimate and double height spaces, gardens, green paths and walls.

In Århus (Denmark), a transformation plan turns the former industrial harbour into an attractive waterfront. On its northern part, between its preserved part and the new district is set the competition's site.

This project provides a sustainable, eventful and varied architecture by arranging buildings along the site’s edges, to enhance dwelling's light conditions and to protect from winds the inner green open-space.

Århus tradition emerges thanks to the scale breakdown of facades and volumes, and the use of local materials and textures for exterior cladding. Building's sustainability relies on green water-collecting surfaces, solar panels and greenhouses placed on the rooftops.
